YEIDA plans to launch mixed-land scheme for industries & houses on same plot

NOIDA: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has planned to launch a mixed-land scheme under which industries will set up along with commercial and residential structures on the same premises.

While allottees can develop industry on 75% of the land allotted to them, the remaining plot can be used for residential, commercial and even institutional purposes.

Officials said industrialists had been demanding a scheme where residential and other basic facilities were available for employees in the same area and they did not need to commute from far-flung places.

“We have 110 acres in total in Sector 24. A total of 7 plots of 10 acres each will be allotted for industry. In the remaining area, there will be development like construction of roads, drains and green areas. The allocation will be done through e-auction,” said Arun Vir Singh, the YEIDA CEO.

Singh clarified that of the remaining land, 12% would be used for residential purposes, 8% for commercial and 5% for institutional development. “This scheme will help in setting up big industries with all the facilities on the premises itself,” the CEO said.

YEIDA, meanwhile, has extended the deadline for submitting applications for its residential plot scheme amid huge demand. For 477 plots, over 50,000 people have submitted forms so far. Plots of sizes ranging from 60sqm to 2,000sqm are available in sectors 16, 17A, 18, 20 and 22D. While the scheme was launched on September 7, the last date for submitting applications was this Friday.

Officials said that although there was a rush, a large number of applicants were facing technical glitches in filing applications online. The Authority has also decided to hold the manual lottery draw for allotting plots on December 16 instead of November 18.
