YEIDA cancels land allotted to SDS Group over non-payment of Rs 223 crore
NOIDA: The Yamuna Expressway Authority (YEIDA) on Friday cancelled the allotment of a 30-acre land to the SDS Group in Sector 26A over non-payment of Rs 223 crore dues even after 11 years.
On August 16, 2011, the Authority allotted the land in Sector 26A for a group housing project to the developer. But to date, the developer has failed to launch the project, according to YEIDA officials.
Of the Rs 223 crore outstanding, Rs 158 crore is instalment dues, Rs 49 crore is additional compensation dues and Rs 16 crore is lease rent dues.
CEO Arun Vir Singh said despite repeated notices, the builder did not clear the dues. “No project map was approved. Therefore, no work was carried out on the plot.”
As per rules, the Authority has also forfeited 25% of the builder’s deposit amounting to Rs 18.62 crore. In the current financial year, the Authority has so far cancelled the allotment of eight builder plots.
Officials said a fresh allotment of these plots would be done. The number of allottees and sub-allottees in the group housing and township categories is 21 in the Yamuna Expressway area.
