Solve property ID complaints on priority: Minister to Gurugram civic body

GURUGRAM: Haryana urban local bodies (ULB) minister Kamal Gupta on Monday directed
officials of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) to resolve the objections and claims of
residents on the newly generated property IDs.
The minister said that the objections should be resolved timely so that the residents can deposit
their property tax.
The meeting was held with the MCG officials at the PWD rest house.
The property tax survey carried out by MCG was carried out in January last year and it had
found that properties falling under the ambit of the tax increased from 3.7 lakh to 5 lakh. MCG
created new property IDs based on the survey and then invited objections from residents.
The residents said that the new property IDs have fetched wrong details of the residents’
properties. The residents had demanded that MCG should organise camps to rectify the errors
in the property IDs.
MCG spokesperson SS Rohilla said, “The deadline to seek property tax rebate has been
extended till January 31. Those who have not filed their dues can get a rebate of 50% if they
deposit it by January 31. In order that maximum people avail this benefit, the ULB minister
directed the officials to resolve the complaints related to property IDs.”
Dhruv Bansal, spokesperson for Qutub Enclave RWA, said, “It has been a year since the MCGappointed agency goofed up with the entire city’s property tax data while carrying the survey.
The civic body, however, has not been able to rectify the errors in the property IDs. We receive a
number of complaints every day from the residents stating that they are not able to pay their
property tax dues due to errors in the property IDs.”
The minister also directed the officials to remove the development charges reflected against the
property IDs for licensed colonies, areas under HSVP, marketing board etc.
