Rein in illegal construction in Gurugram’s Sector 53: Parsvnath Exotica residents
GURUGRAM: Residents of Parsvnath Exotica in Sector 53 have raised concerns over rampant illegal constructions taking place in their neighbourhood for over two years now. They claim their repeated complaints to authorities, including MCG, the department of town and country planning (DTCP), the Gurugram police and on the CM window, have fallen on deaf ears.
The residents allege that their safety is being compromised due to these illegal structures. “It started with a couple of unauthorised structures, but soon swelled to scores due to the negligent attitude of the authorities concerned. Despite being alerted, the authorities are yet to act,” Nalin Sood, a resident of the society, said.
The residents had first approached MCG and DTCP. But after getting no proper response from both the government bodies, they filed a complaint on the CM window in June 2018. “However, the complaint was subsequently disposed of without any consent from the complainants. Another complaint was registered on the CM window in September 2019, but it still remains unresolved,” Sood said.
The residents say the area is frequented by unruly elements and many illegal activities also take place in the area. Unhygienic conditions in the clusters have compounded the problem.
Sabina Tanwar, another resident of the society, said, “This is the entrance point that connects the towers D4, D5 and D6 to the main complex of the society and because of these illegal structures and commercial activities in the vicinity, we are often subjected to unruly behaviour. Illegal borewells have been dug in the area and dumping of construction and demolition waste is also common. So far, the authorities have turned a blind eye.”
When contacted, RS Batth, DTP (enforcement), said, “We are aware about the matter and have already visited the site. We will take necessary action in the coming weeks.”
