Panchsheel Greens 2 residents lock society gate over water crisis in Greater Noida

GREATER NOIDA: Residents of Panchsheel Greens 2 started the year with erratic water
supply, prompting a protest against the builder that lasted till 1am on Monday. Over 2,200
families locked the society’s main gate, and the protest was eventually called off only after police
intervention on Monday.
After facing water disruption from January 1, the residents complained to the Greater Noida
Authority, following which a team came to the society to check the pump house. They blamed it
on the internal pipeline of the society.
While water supply has been resumed in 17 towers, 180 villas are still without water.
“While everyone was celebrating New Year, we were dealing with water issues. When we
discovered that the fault is of the maintenance team, we gave them time till evening. We had no
other option other than starting a protest against the builder in ,” said Dipankar Kumar, a
resident of the society.
180 villas have been assured supply of water from Wednesday. “The villas still do not have
water. Every day the pipeline breaks and it takes the whole day for them to repair and the next
day we have the same issue. Residents complained on the WhatsApp group of the maintenance
team. They promised to solve the issue in a few hours, after which they stopped responding to
calls and messages. The water supply was back on Tuesday afternoon, but within a few hours
the pipeline of the villas broke again,” said Sandhya Pathak, another resident.
The maintenance team manager said, “We had provided a water tanker facility to the towers
where the supply was disrupted. Our team is getting the pipeline fixed in the villa section soon”.
