Not repaired for years, roads in bad shape: Gurugram sector 38 residents

GURUGRAM: Residents of Sector 38 are up in arms against the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) over the dilapidated condition of the internal sector roads in the area. According to the residents, the roads were built in December 2016 and since then no repair work has been carried out in the area.

Ramesh Sukhija, a resident of Sector 38 said, “Motorists and elderly people have often fallen and grievously injured themselves due to uneven surface on the roads. Our area has been completely neglected by the civic body despite our repeated complaints to it on the matter.” Dharmendra Kumar, former RWA president, said, “We have been running from pillar to post for the last two years, but all our pleas have fallen on deaf ears. If the no option but to stage a protest against them. We will hoist black flag at every house in the colony and if required, we will march to MCG office in protest.”

Meanwhile, a senior official of the civic body said, “As the agency refused to carry out the work, we have to initiate the retendering process. Now, we have got the bidding and are awaiting its approval from the finance committe. Once we get
thenod, we will start the work soon.”
