Gurugram: Two years on, AVL 36 residents yet to get an elected RWA

GURUGRAM: Even after two years of taking possession of their flats, the residents of AVL
36 in Gurgaon are still functioning without an elected RWA.
The residents have complained that the developer had registered an apartment owners
association in March 2020 and nominated its close aides as the office bearers of the association
without holding any election process. Residents said that the nominated RWA has been
functioning in a non-transparent manner with no accountability.
Several complaints have been filed with district administration, district registrar and even at the
CM window urging them to hold the election process in the society but no action has been taken
so far, the residents alleged.

Of the 1480 flats, there are more than 1,200 members of the general body which has to elect
collegium members.
Manoj Yadav, a resident said, “The current RWA never responds to us and has been functioning
in an arbitrary manner. In the last two years, there has been no general body meeting in the
society and we don’t know how our money is being spent. The RWA is not working for the
welfare of the residents but favouring developer.”
