Gurugram: Soon, Vipul World to get new power connections
GURUGRAM: The wait for hundreds of homebuyers of Vipul World, a housing society on Sohna Road, for new electricity connections is likely to end soon. This is because the developer has finally submitted the required bank guarantee of around Rs 10 crore to DHBVN.
Around one-and-a-half years back, the discom had stopped issuing fresh connections to the society due to its deficit power infrastructure. DHBVN had also asked the developer of the project to submit the bank guarantee and hand over 500 square yards of land for constructing a 33kV substation.
TOI has learnt that the developer had earlier handed over the required land to the power discom. However, the issue related to the change of land use of the said land is still pending with the department of town and country planning.
“Only the submission of the bank guarantee was pending, which has been submitted now,” Vipul Limited, the developer, said in its letter to DHBVN on Monday.
More than 500 people who have bought builder floor in the society are unable to move into their new houses in the absence of a power connection.
Jaiveer Yadav, RWA president of Vipul World blocks B, C and D, said, “After several months of struggle and waiting, we are hoping to get a new electricity connection.”
Superintending engineer of DHBVN’s Gurugram Circle-2, PK Chauhan said that the bank guarantee was the primary demand.
“CLU of the land is in process, we will ask the developer to submit an indemnity bond and after verifying the bank guarantee, the new connections will be released to Vipul World.”
