Gurugram: Roads in new sectors inspected by officials to spot missing links

GURUGRAM: For better road connectivity in new sectors, a team of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) officials on Friday carried out site inspection at various missing links between sector 77 and 99.
This comes after a meeting between Badshapur MLA Rakesh Daultabad and GMDA CEO Sudhir Rajpal, which was held earlier this week.
According to the GMDA official, there are around 45 missing links between sectors 58 and 115 due to various litigation, legal encumbrances, land acquisition, which is causing hurdles for the construction of roads in the new residential area.
“We are making all efforts to remove bottlenecks and are constantly coordinating with other agencies for the same. Sub-judice matter is a constraint, however, we are pushing to find a solution for it. The locations which have been encroached upon or there are any kind of obstructions, we are coordinating with concerned authorities to clear the land,” said a senior official of GMDA.
Moreover, the GMDA official said that most of the road repair work in these sectors has been completed and remaining work will be completed soon.
However, locals said that there is hardly any work visible on ground despite crores of estimated infrastructure development work approved by the authority. They blamed the technical hurdles for the slow pace of development in the area.
“There are certain roads which need immediate attention, especially Rampura Chowk to Pataudi Road which caters to huge traffic. The GMDA have made the tendering process so complex that they are not able to get bidder and the companies that are coming forward are not able to fulfill all the conditions of the tender causing delay,” said Praveen Malik, a resident of Sector 92.
