Gurugram: Residents protest against Central Park over restricted access to facilfacilities

GURUGRAM: Hundreds of residents of Central Park 2 located on Sohna Road took out a
protest march on Sunday against the developer for changing the layout plan without their
consent and restricting their access to the common facilities.
The residents alleged that they have been denied access to facilities, including central greens,
club, even after more than a decade of taking the possession.
They pointed out the builder revised the project plan in 2019 which was approved by the
department of town and country planning in 2021 without mandatory consent from the existing
tower 1-9 flat owners.

According to the residents, the licence for the project was obtained in 2006 for 27 towers. While
the possession of towers 1 to 9 started in 2008-2009, the construction of the remaining towers
began during the same period.
The developer had then built a wall separating the nine towers with the rest of the project on the
pretext of temporary measures keeping in mind the safety of residents during the construction.
However, even after obtaining the occupancy certificate in 2014 for towers 10 to 25, the
developer refused to take down the wall, they alleged.
Prabhat Bharadwaj, president of Bellevue Central Park 2 Condominium Association, said, “The
residents of tower 1-9 are not allowed inside the main premises as the entry is blocked. In
addition they have installed and locked the gate on a government revenue road. The DTCP has
approved the revised project plan without the mandatory consent from residents. It seems there
is a strong nexus which needs to be probed thoroughly,” he said.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Central Park refuted the allegations and said, “The apartments
with all the facilities were delivered and handed over more than a decade ago. But the RWA has
failed to maintain these facilities and could not continue even the AMC of lifts despite depleting
the IBMSD fund which was more than Rs 11 crore at the time of handover. The misappropriation
of funds needs to be investigated. As for the wall, it was done to ensure the safety of the
residents and labour owing to deep excavations and ongoing construction at the site.”
