Gurugram: Nine societies told to get regular power connections by Aug 31
GURUGRAM: The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has asked the developers of nine societies in sectors along the Dwarka Expressway to complete formalities to avail regular power connections by August 31. The aim is to control the use of diesel generators before the graded response action plan (GRAP) kicks in across Delhi-NCR, officials said.
These nine societies developed by seven different developers have no permanent power connection from DHBVN as they haven’t provided the mandatory bank guarantees and 500 square yards of land for developing 33kV infrastructure. Thousands of families residing in these societies are dependent on temporary connections and face regular outages due to inadequate infrastructure.
HSPCB chairman P Raghavendra Rao told TOI that in case of failure of these developers to avail regular connectionswithin the deadline, action will be initiated against them. “The revenue department will be directed not to execute any conveyance deeds in projects that have not complied on regular power connections. No occupation certificate will be granted without an NOC from DHBVN to curb use of DG sets in future,” he said.
Of these nine societies, three having temporary connections belong to Raheja Developers. The ultimate load of 4,716 KW and partial load of 1,000 KW of Raheja Navodya in Sector 92 was approved in December 2017. But the society is dependent on temporary connections of 450 KW to date. The developer has neither created the mandatory 33 kV infrastructure nor paid the required bank guarantee of Rs 10.52 crore.
Similarly, the ultimate load of 3,353 KW for Raheja Vedaanta in Sector 108 was approved in January 2021. The society is still dependent on a 400 KW temporary connection released in 2017. Also, the ultimate load of 4,731 KW for Raheja Atharva in Sector 109 was approved in January 2021. But the society is still dependent on a 400 KW temporary connection released in 2017.
Ram Kumar Aggarwal, director (technical) of DHBVN, said that GRAP can be enforced any time in Delhi-NCR “due to which the use of DG sets would be totally banned and that would put the residents in trouble in all the projects of Raheja”. Gopal Verma, a representative of Raheja Developers, said that the internal infrastructure in all these three projects would be completed soon.
Another project without a regular power connection is The Corridor, developed by Ireo Developer, in Sector 67A. Sanjay, a representative of Ireo, said, “We will transfer 500 square yards of land to DHBVN for the construction of a 33 KV substation by July-end,” he said. The developer has submitted the required bank guarantee, DHBVN officials said. In Anant Raj Estate in Sector 63A too, there’s no regular power connection. Akhil Kumar, a representative of the developer, promised to transfer 500 square yards of land to DHBVN for the construction of the switching station in two weeks.
Apex Out Homes, developed by Apex Buildwell Pvt Ltd, in Sector 37C is also dependent on a temporary connection of 100kW. Rahul, a representative of the developer, said the bank guarantee will be submitted in two weeks and within a month, “we will hand over the required land”.
