Gurugram: Lifts defunct in Sare Homes, upkeep company booked
GURUGRAM: Police booked the maintenance company of a residential society for non-functional lifts that are posing a safety risk to the residents. The residents have alleged that despite paying annual maintenance charges (AMC) they have not been provided with any upkeep facility and lifts have not been working for a long time.
Around 300 families residing in the society had approached the DTCP and the state government to take over the project after several hundred apartments remained undelivered and several infrastructure-related problems were found. The issues related to lifts were also raised before chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar during the district grievance committee meeting.
The department of town and country planning (DTCP) had written to Gurgaon police seeking the registration of an FIR against the developer and maintenance agency of Sare Homes in Sector 92 for non-functional lifts.
“We had recommended registration of FIR against the maintenance company. Annual maintenance contract (AMC) of 11 out of 16 lifts in the society had expired, other lifts are not functioning properly,” said district town planner RS Batth.
Aditya Jakhar, RWA president, Phase-3 of Sare Homes alleged they have been paying maintenance charges regularly but the company, responsible for society maintenance, is not carrying out any maintenance work. “They had not even paid for the AMC for lifts. The lifts malfunction frequently and on multiple occasions people have stuck for hours,” said Jakhar adding that the company cheated people of the maintenance amount collected from the residents.
A case was registered under Section 10 of Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act and section 406 of IPC at Sector 10 police station against TN Singh, Ravi Potliya, Jagdish Kotiyal and Manish Chopra of Sare Facility (Gurgaon) Pvt Ltd and Vineet Relia of Sare Gurgaon Pvt Ltd.
Officials at the DTCP said that the builder — Ramprastha Sare Realty Pvt Ltd (now known as Sare Gurugram Pvt Ltd) — got the licence in 2009 and 2011 for setting up of the group housing colony on 48 acres.
The society received occupation certificates for phases 1 and 2, which have about 1,200 flats. They were handed over in 2015 and 2017. Most of these are occupied now.
