Gurugram: DTCP to check on suspension of three affordable projects soon

GURUGRAM: In response to a builder’s appeal to revoke an order suspending the licences
issued to three of its affordable housing projects, the department of town and country planning
(DTCP) has called a meeting to examine the situation and current status of the projects.
Senior DTCP officials and representatives of the developer — Ocean Seven Buildtech (OSB) —
as well as over 50 homebuyers are likely to attend the meeting on Wednesday.
On February 23, the department suspended the licences of three OSB affordable housing
projects — Golf Heights in Sector 69, The Venetian in Sector 70 and Expressway Towers in
Sector 109 — over the developer’s failure to comply with the terms and conditions.
OSB was granted the licences in 2016, 2018 and 2019 to develop the projects. The developer
has failed to deliver the projects till date, triggering vehement protests from the allottees.
A homebuyer said DTCP officials have given an opportunity to the builder on their request for
consideration of revocation of their building licence suspension. “The DTCP director general
(DG) shall be chairing the meeting, along with 52 buyers of the three projects. This comes after
the DG issued orders for cancellation of the licence and attachment of the builder’s movable
and immovable assets for violation of various provisions of the licence,” he added.
Another homebuyer said, “Wednesday will be the deciding day for the builder and the promise
they have made for the past seven years, as the projects are still not complete despite being
part of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aawas Yojana.”
Earlier, buyers of Expressway Towers had filed a police complaint against the developer and
demanded the seizure of passports of the directors and OSB officials allegedly involved in fraud.
