Gurugram: DTCP seeks FIR against owner for building 20 shops illegally in Khandsa
GURUGRAM: The enforcement wing of town and country planning department has written to Gurgaon police and recommended filing of FIR against one Om Prakash Kataria, a resident of Sector 37 for constructing 20 illegal shops in Khandsa.
According to the complaint, the shops have been constructed without any licence, building plan and permission from the concerned department. The enforcement wing has further issued a restoration order to the builder and warned if the land is not restored within seven days, the department will carry out a demolition drive and the shops will be razed.
On May 18, TOI had reported that as key departments — Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and department of town and country planning (DTCP) —are focusing on Covid 19 duties, land mafia and encroachers have become active in city and Manesar. DTCP has received around 20 complaints related to encroachment on government land, mushrooming of illegal colonies and unauthorised construction in licenced colonies in the last one month.
District town planner RS Batth said the department had issued showcause notices to Kataria last week but he failed to furnish satisfactory reply after which restoration order was issued. Now we have recommended Sector 50 police to register a case against him.
Another showcause notice has been issued to one Prabhat Singh for developing an illegal colony on three-acre prime land in Jurola village of Farrukhnagar. Batth has directed the developer to immediately stop the ongoing construction, failing which demolition drive will be carried out.
“In case anyone starts construction activities in illegal colonies, the department will register police complaint and demolish the construction,” said Batth.
