Gurugram: DTCP razes illegal shops, walls on green belt near Dwarka Expressway
GURUGRAM: The enforcement team of the department of town and country planning (DTCP) razed eight shops, 10 boundary walls and one shed illegally constructed in Sector 110, which falls along the Dwarka Expressway, on Wednesday.
The shops had been built without authorisation on a green belt near a proposed road in the sector. They were being used as offices of property dealers, DTCP officials said. The team used three earthmover machines in the presence of 50 police personnel to conduct the drive.
According to officials, the office of the DTCP director recently received a complaint, after which he directed the Gurgaon district town planner (DTP) to conduct a drive to raze the illegal structures. As per the complaint, a few property dealers had constructed around 15 shops and their offices without change in land use (CLU) permission and licence from DTCP.
A senior official said when the enforcement team started demolition, the shop owners claimed they had registration papers of the land on which shops were constructed, but failed to produce any relevant documents. “Apart from four offices of property dealers, there were 10 jhuggis inside boundary walls and a shed on the green belt. All the structures were razed,” he added.
DTP (enforcement) RS Batth said there are strict directions to clear encroachment and illegal construction from roadsides, green belts and land belonging to DTCP, GDMA, MCG or any other government agency.
