Gurugram: DTCP issues notice to builder of Shree Vardhman Mantra project
GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning has issued a notice to the developer of Shree Vardhman Mantra residential project in Sector 67 for not providing electricity, water and sewerage connection to the residents.
The homebuyers, around 800 families living in Vardhman Mantra, alleged the project has no occupation certificate and the residents are facing a tough time due to lack of amenities.
District town planner RS Batth said the project spread across 12 acres has 10 towers while one tower is incomplete. Apart from many existing deficiencies, the developer has not constructed the club despite budgeting it in plan, he said.
“We have served the notice to the developer to resolve the pending issues and share an action taken report with us within seven days,” he said.
A homebuyer said there is no permanent electricity connection to the project. Now, the residents are relying on gensets. “The developer is charging Rs 23/unit for power generated by DG sets along with additional amount of Rs 27 per day for the power supplied through prepaid meter, without the consent of homebuyers. Also, the maintenance charges are too high,” he said.
There is no connecting road between the society and the main sector road. Owing to this, the situation gets worse during rainy days. There is no parking facility, which the developer had committed as per the agreement. Due to this, residents often get into fights for parking space.
Pawan Kaushik, another resident, said the district town planner carried out a survey of the project on the requests of residents.
Another buyer said the builder delayed the project for more than five years.
