Gurugram civic body’s meeting to discuss land exchange with builders postponed
GURUGRAM: Mayor Madhu Azad on Sunday night decided to postpone the House meeting scheduled on Monday till further notice citing non-availability. Sources said the mayor’s team feared protest during the house meeting over exchanging land with developers.
The councillors said the corporation wanted to give alternate land in exchange of redundant revenue roads falling within licensed projects of builders. But when Azad realised the councillors were against the proposal and are planning to raise it during the house meeting, she postponed.
The land exchange proposals of four developers, ATS Meadows, Blue Bell Buildtech, Vatika Limited and Era Resorts was included in the meeting agenda but the councillors alleged they were not informed in advance, and transparency was not maintained in bringing up these proposals.
As per meeting agenda, ATS Meadows has submitted a proposal for exchange of 2,470 sq mt land in Rajendra Park colony in lieu of land of equal size at the same site.
Similarly, Blue Bell Buildtech had sought exchange of 0.85 acres land in Choma village, Vatika group had sought exchange of 3.28 acre land in Sihi village, and Era Resorts wanted to swap 551 sq yards in Ghata village.
“The land offered by the companies will be gainfully utilised for developing some infrastructure facility for the residents of nearby colonies. And the proposal was found fit for consideration in terms of the policy,” the meeting agenda mentioned.
