Gurugram: Buyers say no flats after three-year delay, Aster Infrahome says got OC

GURUGRAM: Homebuyers of Green Court on Saturday staged a protest at the developer’s office on MG Road over its failure to deliver their homes even after three years and making “arbitrary demands”.

The affordable housing project in Sector 90 was launched in 2015 with a four-year deadline. The developer has already taken 95% of the flat’s cost from most of the buyers but is yet to offer possession, according to the aggrieved buyers.

Moreover, the allottees alleged that the developer has been raising arbitrary demands and asking them to deposit the balance amount, threatening to charge Rs 10,000 per month for any delay, while not agreeing to compensate the buyers for three years of delay. Sangeeta Ahlawat, one of the aggrieved homebuyers who booked a flat in 2015 and paid 95% of the flat, said, “Since the beginning, the project has been running behind schedule. Now, they are offering the flats which are not ready for handover, that is, they lack
amenities like sanitary fittings.” “In addition to this, the developer has threatened to slap a penalty of Rs 10,000 per month if the balance payment is not made, a clause which is not mentioned in the affordable housing policy and the builder-buyer agreement. On the contrary, they should
compensate us for the delay.”Other buyers pointed out that the developer has levied extra charges for increasing the floor area for which no revised plan has been approved by the competent authority.

Several complaints have been filed to the department concerned but to no avail.
Virender Tickoo, another buyer, said, “There are a lot of basic facilities which are missing at the site. I have paid 95% payment for the flat and only Rs 1.5 lakh is pending from my side. But they have raised a demand of Rs 3.68 lakh without giving any justification.”
A representative of Aster Infrahome Pvt Ltd, the developer, refuted the allegations and said that they have offered the letter of possession to the flat buyers. “We have obtained the occupancy certificate and offered possession. As and when the buyers are depositing the remaining amount, we are handing over the flats.”
