Gurugram: Builders of nine colonies told to share property info in a week

GURUGRAM: Three days after giving its approval to the MCG takeover of nine private builder colonies in Gurgaon, the department of town and country planning (DTCP) on Thursday asked the developers to share details of their properties within a week.

The colonies that have received DTCP’s approval for takeover by the MCG include Rosewood City, Greenwood City, Malibu Town, Ardee City, Sushant Lok-2 & 3, Mayfield Garden, Vipul Gardens and Uppal Southend.

Senior town planner Sanjeev Mann called a meeting of the developers of these colonies on Thursday to discuss the issue of MCG takeover. “During the meeting, the developers were directed to share the details of their properties in these colonies. We have given them a week’s time for the same,” he said.

These developers will have to transfer all roads, public places, including parks and other open spaces, and public health infrastructure, if any, in these colonies to the civic body and submit a compliance report to the DTCP by June 9.

As per the final assessment report, the MCG will have to spend Rs 92.04 crore on completing the deficient infrastructure in these nine colonies.

The developers of these nine colonies will either have to pay upfront to the civic body for completing the deficient infrastructure or the DTCP will recover the cost by selling off the assets of the builders such as vacant plots and reimburse the MCG, according to officials.

But with DHBVN recently deciding to recover the money from new consumers from all colonies in case of deficient power infrastructure, and not from the developers, some residents of these nine colonies fear that the civic body could make them pay at a later stage.

“Hope DTCP will be able to recover the money from the developers, else residents of these colonies may be forced to pay for the completion of the deficient infrastructure by the MCG. The government should attach the properties of the developers to recover the cost in case of default,” said Manoj Yadav, a resident of Malibu Town.

The estimated cost to complete the deficient infrastructure in Mayfield Garden is the highest at
Rs 16.21 crore, followed by Malibu Town at Rs 14.7 crore, Greenwood City at Rs 14.31 crore,
and Ardee City at Rs 10.93 crore. The costs for Sushant Lok 3 & 2 are Rs 10.38 crore and Rs
8.50 crore, respectively.
