Gurugram: After audit, builder of Brisk Lumbini starts repairs, RWA says ‘keep us in loop’

GURUGRAM: After a structural audit by the district administration, the developer of Brisk Lumbini in
Sector 109 has been carrying out repair work of the structural defects through its contractor.
However the RWA is unhappy with the process, claiming that the residents and the structural audit agency
are not being kept in the loop with regards to methodology and other updates.
The RWA, in a letter to the department of town and country planning (DTCP), has demanded that the
structural audit firm, RWA and the developer should work jointly to ensure work is done with
transparency. “All repair work of structural deficiencies should be done as per standard procedure,” an
RWA member said. The developer did not respond to queries about the demand to involve the RWA in repair process

Based on the letter, district town planner (planning) Rajesh Kaushik has directed DTP
(enforcement) Manish Yadav to look into the matter. In the letter, RWA general secretary Asha Yadav has
said the structural audit company refuses to accept the responsibility of the quality of work being carried
out. “They refused to even certify the work that is being carried out or even comment on the progress or
implementation of methodology used We need the intervention of our structural committee members to
identify the defects and supervise the rectification needed to restore the project to optimal level of safety
and security.”

She said this is in direct conflict with the builder and contractor interest as they aspire for minimum
expenditure on the ongoing work.
The association further said that there are serious defects in RCC settlement, faulty swimming pool work,
poor construction quality of EWS flats and STP sewerage.
The RWA has sought clear recommendations from the audit firm on this problem.
