Gurugram: 40 building sites flout GRAP rules, penalised Rs 20 lakh
GURUGRAM: The enforcement wing of town and country planning department has issued
notice to more than 40 construction sites in DLF 1 and 2, Palam Vihar and Ansal Escenia in
Sector 67 for carrying out construction work even after the GRAP orders, wherein complete ban
on construction activities has been imposed due to poor air quality.
A fine of Rs 50,000 has been imposed on each developer and if they fail to deposit, the same
will be recovered during the grant of occupation certificate. Also, a team of enforcement officials
has been deployed to keep vigil over other construction sites in the city.
The officials during the action warned the developers and property owners to immediately stop
the construction works, till further orders.
“Order has been passed and teams have been deputed in all the residential colonies to keep
check on the construction activities and accordingly imposing the penality as per the GRAP
order,” said district town planner (enforcement) Amit Madholia.
A DTCP official said the planning wing has been requested not to issue occupation certificate of
the property owners, if they fail to deposit the penalty.
