Greater Noida: GNIDA plans to allot leftover IT plots to industry, institutions
GREATER NOIDA: After several plots meant for setting up information technology-related units failed to get takers, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has now approved a plan to establish industrial and institutional units in the area.
The authority has identified about 40 leftover plots and plans to come up with an allotment scheme for them soon. More may be added to the scheme as the GNIDA is preparing a list of remaining IT plots.
The land is in the industrial and institutional sectors of Greater Noida where companies like Wipro and NIT have already set up offices.
Around 100 plots had been reserved for IT units and related services and products.
“Following the lack of response received for the IT plots, the authority, during its latest board meeting, decided to change the land use pattern for the area. Soon, the leftover plots would be included in the industrial and institutional plots scheme,” said an official from the GNIDA.
The scheme is likely to be launched by next month, the official added.
If a plot is located in the industrial sector, then the land use is considered industrial. If it is in an institutional sector, then the land use pattern would be institutional.
