Greater Noida authority to upload status of 197 projects on website
NOIDA: On the lines of its Noida counterpart, the Greater Noida Authority will now upload details
— status of dues, occupation and completion certificates — of its 197 group housing projects on
its official website. The move, officials said, seeks to enhance transparency and safeguard the
interests of investors.
“We plan to upload the data by next Friday. At present, the Authority is preparing tower-wise
data for each builder. This is taking some time. It is online, homebuyers will be able to check the
status of all projects and invest accordingly,” GNIDA officer on special duty (builder department)
Saumya Srivastava told TOI on Sunday.
The Noida Authority has recently uploaded the details of its 115 projects, including their status of
completion and occupation certificates, arrears, disputes and registry of flats, on its website. The
authority has uploaded details in two categories — realtors whose projects are ready for a
registry, and defaulting realtors who have failed to clear dues.
According to officials, 135 of the 197 housing projects in Greater Noida are on the defaulters’ list
and 107 builders have been issued notices for clearing their dues amounting to nearly Rs 5,600
crore. While five projects have cleared all dues, 10 have applied to clear the payments under
GNIDA’s reschedulement policy, announced in January.
Recently, the Authority has received Rs 400 crore under the reschedulement policy
and SWAMIH Funds. “We hope to realise another Rs 80 crore in the second instalment of the
projects that applied under the policy. The Authority plans to issue recovery certificates and
cancel the land allotment of developers who have, so far, not shown any interest to clear their
dues,” said an official.
Builders altogether owe over Rs 14,500 crore to GNIDA in dues. Twenty-one projects, which are
undergoing insolvency proceedings at the National Company Law Tribunal, cumulatively owe
GNIDA over Rs 2500 crore.
Amid the stalemate over payment of dues, nearly 1 lakh homebuyers in Greater Noida West are
facing difficulty in registering their flats.
