NEW DELHI: The three municipal corporations on Tuesday extended the deadline for submitting property tax for the financial year 2019-20 till July 31.
Taxpayers will continue to get the rebate of 15% given for timely payment even if they miss the initial deadline of June 30, according to an order issued by the assessment and collection department of the south, east and the north corporations. The mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation,

The corporation is organising special property tax camps in all colonies in association with the residents welfare associations and local councillors, the mayor added. The south corporation has organised 145 camps where 16,480 taxpayers have completed the procedure and deposited Rs 30 crore.
In the previous financial year, the corporation collected Rs 1,589 crore from property tax and transfer duties, which was almost 46.7% of its total income of Rs 3,400 crore.
The spokesperson of EDMC, Arun Kumar, said, “Besides giving the extension, those who want to submit tax for previous years will also be allowed to do so without any interest.”
