About 52 plots allotted a decade ago, acquired by YEIDA only now
NOIDA: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has purchased land to be given to 52 allottees in Sector 33. Although the allotments were made a decade ago, the land was never
acquired by the Authority. Officials said they would soon acquire land to be given to three more allottees, and the acquisition process
for it is currently underway and nearing completion. Once the acquisition is finalised, the Authority intends to develop the plots and deliver them to the respective allottees by August 30, this year. The issue came to light last year when approximately 30-35 industrialists filed an RTI query with YEIDA to inquire about the status of their allotted land. Subsequently, the matter reached YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh. He assured the entrepreneurs of acquiring the land and facilitating the possession of the plots.
In 2013, YEIDA allotted 144 plots to industrialists in Sector 33. Out of these, the Yamuna Authority had not acquired land for 55 plots due to some confusion.
The acquisition of over 18 acres of land in Murad Garhi village and its adjoining areas is essential for YEIDA to complete the development works, including sewerage, drainage, and street lighting. The allottees will receive possession of their plots once the development work is concluded, said officials. Notably, the state government has taken serious note of the issue of plot allotment without land acquisition in Noida Authority and the Yamuna Authority.
In May, an order was issued mandating the acquisition of land before launching any plot scheme. The government has strictly instructed all the industrial development authorities across the state to adhere to this directive. The decision was prompted by an observation made by the Allahabad high court in a similar case.
