A day after winning polls, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh inspects infra projects
The Noida authority on Friday said that it has expedited work on several infrastructure projects, including the Parthala flyover and the 5.5-kilometre-long Bhangel elevated road.
A day after winning the Noida assembly seat, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Pankaj Singh also conducted an inspection of the two infrastructure projects, along with the Noida authority additional chief executive officer Praveen Mishra and principal general manager Rajiv Tyagi. They were accompanied by a team of engineers and it was learnt that the MLA asked the authority to expedite work and complete both the projects within the stipulated time.
“We have asked the Noida authority to complete the work as per schedule. We also urged the officials to make sure that dust pollution does not affect commuters and residents of the nearby areas,” said MLA Singh.
Prior to the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Singh had also sought votes in the name of developmental issues, good governance and better policing.
Officials of the Noida authority said that the work on the two road projects is underway and they are adhering to all construction guidelines. They added that efforts are being made to limit dust due to the construction activities.
“We are sprinkling water at the construction sites on a regular basis so that dust does not fly into the air and trouble citizens. We have also placed green sheets on the project sites and diverted some traffic so that commuters do not face inconvenience,” said Tyagi.
The Bhangel elevated road will offer a smooth ride to thousands of commuters who use the Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera roads. According to officials, about 47% work is already complete and the project, which began on June 8, 2020, will be operational by the end of this year. The Noida authority allocated 467 crore for the elevated road project, added officials.
The Parthala flyover project started on December 24, 2020, with an aim to provide seamless connectivity to commuters who travel between Noida and Greater Noida. Once completed, it will ease traffic congestion at the busy Parthala traffic intersection. The Noida authority allocated 80.53 crore for the 697-metre-long flyover and has set a target to complete it by June-end.
