Include us in new Manesar corporation: Sectors 83 & 84 residents to Haryana CM

GURUGRAM: Residents of sectors 83 and 84 met chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar in IMT Manesar on Saturday and sought his intervention for the inclusion of their sectors in the newly formed Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM).

Residents and RWA representatives of eight societies in the two sectors — Emaar Palm Gardens, Vatika Lifestyle Homes, Vatika City Homes, Vatika G-21, Vatika K-block independent floors, Alpha Corp Gurgaon One, SS Coralwood and Mapsko Paradise — submitted a memorandum to Khattar on Saturday requesting him to include these sectors in MCM.

In the memorandum, the residents pointed out that they have been part of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon for a decade according to records, but have not received any services till date. Residents added that a majority of new sectors from sectors 77 to 95 fall under MCM limits, and only these two sectors are not part of the new civic body.

Amresh Mishra, a member of Lifestyle Homes RWA, said: “We have been demanding the formation of a new municipal body and were happy when MCM came into existence. We were disappointed when sectors 83 and 84 were excluded.”

Residents feel that the new civic body, which is in the nascent stage of planning and development of new sectors, would address their local concerns more proactively than MCG. “Despite our geographical proximity to the rest of the new sectors, it is unfortunate that we have been left out,” Sayandeb Bose, a resident of Sector 83, said.

Subhash Yadav, general secretary of City Homes RWA, added: “We don’t want our area to be neglected anymore as MCG already has enough areas to look after. We don’t wish the demarcation of MCG and MCM to become a hurdle in the development of the area.”

Meanwhile, SP Jrwata, MLA of Pataudi, said residents raised the issue with the CM, who assured them that he would take the matter into serious consideration. “The 21-member advisory committee of MCM will take this matter into consideration as well and will send a detailed report after carrying out a survey. Everything will be sorted out in due course of time,” he said.
