Advisory board to run Manesar civic body: Haryana CM

GURUGRAM: The Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM) will soon have a 21-member advisory board for assisting the commissioner in scrutinising and carrying out development projects till the time civic elections are held in the town, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said on Saturday. The board will have the MLAs of Badshapur and Pataudi, district council heads, block heads and other eminent people as members.

“A 21-member advisory board for MCM will soon be constituted. The board will have the MLAs of Badshapur and Pataudi, the chairman of the Gurgaon Block Samiti, two to three members of the industries association, two to three village sarpanches and other members,” Khattar said, while addressing a gathering at HSIIDC auditorium in IMT Manesar.

The board will help the MCM commissioner to look into the development projects and proposals for the MCM areas, the chief minister said, adding that the state government has already approved Rs 61 crore for piped water supply to the 24 villages and nine settlements in Manesar. “Sewage treated water should be used for horticulture and industrial purposes and piped water for drinking only.”

Moreover, the CM said that with the formation of a municipal corporation, the infrastructure requirements for streetlights, sewage, drainage, roads, parks, traffic management, horticulture work and drinking water supply of the Manesar area will be taken care of. “Tenders will be floated for solid waste management and ID for each property will be generated,” he said.

On his part, MCG commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh, who held the MCM commissioner’s charge briefly, said the property tax survey to generate id has started for which booths will be set up in all tehsils from Monday.

“MCG has deposited its funds to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore in different banks and Manesar is more financially prosperous than Gurgaon due to the presence of industries. MCM too will be able to generate revenue more than the expenditure,” the CM said.

Other announcements made by CM Khattar

The Haryana CM on Friday laid the foundation stone of Institute of Business Management and Agripreneurship in Daultabad village. The institute will be made by the CCS Haryana Agricultural University and is estimated to cost nearly Rs 125 crore.

Moreover, Badshahpur MLA Rakesh Daultabad also raised the issue related to the submerged land along the Badshahpur drain. On this, the CM said that a committee of the affected farmers should be constituted and the state government can table their suggestions before the committee. Khattar said that the state government will work on the suggestions approved by the committee.

The CM, who also holds the post of HSVP chief, distributed allotment letters to the economically-weaker section (EWS) families for residential plots. A total of 12 families have been allotted residential plots of HSVP in Uppal Southend in Sector 48.

Moreover, the CM announced a 100-bed hospital for Manesar. The CM directed the district health department to start a dispensary on a temporary basis till the hospital is constructed in Manesar.. He also announced an all-women police station for Manesar.

Following demands of replacement of older streetlights with LED bulbs in IMT Manesar, the CM said that the work will be done soon at an estimated cost of Rs 14.8 crore.
