DTCP demolishes illegal colony in Pachgaon

GURUGRAM: An illegal colony being developed on a two-acre prime land in Baghanki village of Pachgaon was demolished by the enforcement team of town and country planning on Monday. The team also demolished five boundary walls of plots and an under-construction structure.

According to sources, the town and country planning department and the chief minister’s window had received complaints about an illegal colony being developed on village land.

During the site visit, the officials of the enforcement team found that the colony was developed on agricultural land and no permission was sought by the developers from the department. The developers were selling plots ranging from 50 sq yards to 150 sq yards and many plot owners had constructed boundary walls.

The district town planner (enforcement), R S Batth, said he reached the site along with the enforcement team officials, 100 policemen and three JCBs and razed the under-construction structure and five boundary walls. “The locals gathered on the site tried to obstruct the demolition drive but the police managed to control and disperse the crowd,” he said.

The official added that strict directions have been received to raze all such colonies. The department has prepared a list of all such illegal colonies, names of buyers and sellers and related transaction details. “The department will lodge an FIR against such people,” he said.
