Delhi development authority takes freehold approval online
NEW DELHI: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will launch online facilities for e-Conversion (from leasehold to freehold of plotted properties) and e-EOT (extension of time) for construction on plotted properties on Thursday. The services will be inaugurated by DDA’s vice-chairman Anurag Jain. The authority will not accept any offline application for conversion and EOT from Tuesday evening.
According to the current norms, a person has to start construction on the plot within five years of allotment, or face a penalty. “Under the e-EOT process, a person can get an easy extension after applying online and submitting the fees,” said Subu R, commissioner, land disposal department, DDA
The commissioner, who has conceptualised and executed these first end-to-end public interface services, said after a successful implementation of e-Mutation system on July 8, these services would help bring in transparency, accountability and reduce corruption and visits to DDA office.
To apply for an online conversion, applicants would have to register on the public services portal of DDA’s land and disposal department. Here, all the three online services could be availed through single username and password.
“To log in, an OTP will be sent on the registered email and mobile number of the applicants. They can then file the detail and upload a scanned copy of requisite documents and make online payment of initial conversion charge or processing fee,” said the authority.
