Gurugram: 22 more illegal colonies likely to be regularised, second list sent to be regularised, second list sent to government

GURUGRAM: The district administration on Monday has sent a proposal to the state government for regularisation of 22 illegal colonies. This is the second list, and the first list — comprising 11 colonies —
was sent on June 27 this year. After the state’s approval, these colonies will be considered legal, following which the government will
carry out development works, including sewage, drainage, water supply and road repair. The administration had surveyed 102 illegal colonies in 2021, out of which 60 were found eligible to be legalised. Of these, proposals for regularisation of 33 colonies have already been sent out to the government.

The development of these colonies will be regularised under the Haryana Management of Civic Amenities
and Infrastructure Deficient Areas Outside Municipal Area (Special Provisions) Act 2021. As per the
norms, colonies which have a minimum of 2 acres land and a 3 metre-wide road network are eligible to
get the ‘legal’ tag.
These illegal colonies are outside the municipal areas and the legal tag will address their deficiencies in
infrastructure. Before the dates for municipal elections of MCG and MCM are announced, the colonies are likely to be legalised. Deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav said that, out of the 102 colonies, six of them do not completely fulfill the criteria for a legal tag, but are close, so they have been kept under consideration.

Norms for legalisation have now been modified and so the process has been simplified. Earlier, the colonies needed to have RWAs, but now there is no such requirement. An individual resident can also
apply for regularisation,” Yadav said.
DTP (enforcement) Manish Yadav said that out of the 22 colonies, five are in Farrukhnagar, eight in Pataudi, three in Manesar and six are in Sohna.
