“Residents have been waiting for the audit and its results since February.y. According to the last update, the audit report was to be shared with the residents by November 15,” said Gaurav Prakash, who lives in Brisk Lumbini, Sector 109. He added that it’s likely the auditors would have suggested a more comprehensive survey to ascertain if the apartment complexes are fit for habitation. “Then again, we will be forced to live under a constant threat,” he said. The cave-in at Chintels Paradiso in February this year, which led to
the deaths of two persons, had prompted the district administration to shortlist 16 societies for structural audits on the basis of complaints by residents. Four agencies, roped in for the audits in August, began their survey in mid-September. The process includes an on-site inspection of
the buildings, studying any apparent defect, signs of deterioration, and damage to slabs, columns and beams of the structures. The societies include DLF Park Place (Sector 54), M3M Woodshire (Sector 107), Signature Global Solera (Sector 107), Paras Irene (Sector 70A), Central Park II Bellevue (Sector 48), Antriksh Heights (Sector 84), Brisk Lumbini (Sector 109), Mapsko Casabella (Sector 82) and Mahindra Aura (Sector 110 A).
Nikhil, who lives in Raheja Atharva — another complex where the audit is supposed to be carried out — said: “We have been facing so many construction related issues for the past five years, but the residents have not received any support from authorities. While several societies have been audited, the audit of our society is still pending despite repeated follow-ups,” he said. When asked, Gurgaon deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav told TOI: “We held discussions with audit firms this Friday. We will call the RWAs concerned also to brief them about the findings this week.”
