Gurugram: DTCP wants a pause on lease deeds of Raheja Developers & Brisk Infrastructure
GURUGRAM: The town and country planning department (DTCP) has recommended that the
registration of sale and lease deeds for all projects of two developers be stopped as they failed
to pay for the structural audits of their residential societies in the city.
District town planner Amit Madholia wrote to deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav that Raheja
Developers and Brisk Infrastructure had failed to deposit the audit amounts despite repeated
reminders.
In the first week of August this year, the district administration had finalised a panel of four
agencies for carrying out the structural audits of 16 housing societies where residents alleged
serious flaws in construction quality.
The agencies were to be paid at the rate of Rs 1.75 per sqft and the cost of the audit was to be
borne by the developers. The developers were, in the second week of September, directed to
deposit the amount in an escrow account of the district administration. Madholia said reminders
were sent to the developers on September 24 and October 6 for depositing the amount for the
audits. A meeting was also called by the deputy commissioner on October 28, when the
developers were given 7 days to clear the dues.
However, according to the account statements on November 11, no payment was made by the
two developers, Madholia said in the letter. If the execution of lease deeds is stopped, 16
projects of Raheja Developers and one of Brisk Infrastructure will be affected.
While Brisk could not be reached for a comment, a spokesperson for Raheja said, “We have
requested the department to implead our projects in the structural audit process as we have
neither designed nor constructed them. The department has been requested to address the
issue towards the agencies that have actually constructed and supervised these projects.
However, we will comply with DTCP orders if our application is not considered.”
