Noida Authority stops construction activity in Antriksh Golf View 1

NOIDA: The Noida Authority on Wednesday stopped construction activity at Antriksh Golf View 1, following complaints of illegal construction in the stilt parking area of the Sector 78 housing society. Currently, the society is home to 1,200 families.

The crackdown on the alleged illegal construction at Antriksh Golf View 1 comes barely two days after the Noida Authority embarked on a drive to raze as many as 47 illegal shops and 20 unauthorised studio apartments at Gardenia Gateway Society in Sector 75.

According to the residents of Antriksh Golf View, the society is supposed to have 217 stilt parking slots as per the building layout plan.

“But the developer has started illegally constructing flats in the stilt area, without the permission of the Authority and consent from the residents,” said Brijesh Singh, a resident.

“Already, some 30 pits have been dug and these are being filled with soil for construction of flats. Moreover, it has come to our knowledge that some under-construction flats have already been sold to gullible buyers,” he added.

And in the absence of proper parking slots, the residents said they were being forced to park their cars elsewhere on the society premises. “This is causing a major problem, and that too, after paying additional money for parking spaces,” said another resident.

The society, the residents claimed, also lacks basic amenities, including 100% power backup, as promised by the developer. “The power backup is not adequate for a 1,600-flat housing society,” Singh said.

Senior manager (work) of Noida’s circle 6, Mukesh Vaish, said, “Residents have complained to us about the stilt parking issues. We have taken action.”

Karan Singh, project manager at the housing society, however, claimed that “all the flats being built on the ground floor are as per the approved plan”.

“We have already submitted a letter to the Noida Authority, seeking resumption of construction work at the site. Whatever work is going on in the society is legal,” he said.

Last month, the Authority cancelled the occupation certificate (OC) of Antriksh Golf View 2, comprising about 1,055 flats across 12 towers, in the wake of various building norm violations, including construction of commercial units in place of residential and unauthorised parking slots in the society.
