New Delhi civic body to allot 120 flats to staff from next month

NEW DELHI: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will start the allotment of 120 type-II flats to its employees from March. The seven-storey complex at Sector-7, Pushp Vihar in Saket will be named ‘Amrit Mahotsav Parisar’ and has been constructed over 1.6 acres for Rs 43.5 crore.

The complex will have many environment-friendly facilities, such as a sewer treatment plant of 100 Kilolitre per day capacity, solar lights, etc.

NDMC member Girish Sachdeva said that on Wednesday, the council agreed to allot Rs 50.8 lakh to build an STP.

“For proper commissioning of the STP, various mechanical and filter parts are needed. And everything will be done in a phased manner. The council has approved funds with 5% contingencies for supplying, installation, testing and commissioning of all mechanical and filter parts of STP with two years running and maintenance cost,” Sachdeva.

NDMC member Kuljeet Singh Chahal said that the flats are divided into two blocks with seven floors and a basement.

“Each flat has provision for two rooms and a drawing-room. Common areas have a granite finish for an aesthetic look to the place. The project will provide better housing for NDMC employees,” Sachdeva said.
